Nothing like finding your groove.
The quest can be the epic search of a life time or a surprise lightning bolt connection.
Or sometimes, it could be a seed that was planted long ago, but lays dormant, slowly growing underground, until one day, suddenly a beautiful flower appears.
It’s kind of like when all the pieces of the puzzle are right there in front of us, but we’re just looking at them from the wrong angle.
Or maybe someone or something is blocking our view.
And sometimes there is just so much noise, we literally can’t even hear ourselves think – let alone tune into our inner voice.
Remove the obstacle. Change the perspective. Tune out the noise.
Then…BANG – the pieces fall into place.
Life is full of distractions and obstacles. It takes a lot of patience and persistence to stay focused. Eyes on the prize; with the prize being purpose.
Without purpose…
Full stop.
On the other hand, with purpose, there is passion. There is light and clarity. Don’t get me wrong, there may still be passing storms, somber days, epic falls and uncomfortable moments, but the purpose allows for the hope and the will to overcome even the darkest of hours.
As we enter 2023 – the perfect time to reflect and recenter – we should be asking ourselves: what is my purpose? What will fuel me to keep going past kilometre 30 in this marathon of life?
We often set goals at the beginning of a new year and goals are good, they often give us that little push we need to get it done. But goals are the means to an end – with the end being our purpose. It must begin and end with purpose, if not, those goals become fleeting sparks, never actually catching and building the fire within.
And the fire within is where it’s at – that slow belly burn that drives us; that warms our soul, heats our desire for knowledge and fuels our connection with those around us. It is our hearth.
Not sure what that home fire is? Keep asking yourself why? Why did you set those goals? Why did you take that path? Who or what makes you smile? Eventually you’ll get your answer, and how sweet it is.
Oh, and remember, even once lit, you need to stoke that fire every one and a while and let your passion be your guiding light!
Happy New Year! Let’s take on 2023 with Grit & Grace!

Well done again Ruth❣️ A solid reminder that we have to connect with our inner self and stir up the passion to forge ahead with hopes and dreams. Loving you, as always Mom 💕🌹🥰
